It’s officially summer now. I started being more conscious of my diet this month, planning meals every week, reading about nutrition, and keeping my kitchen stocked. I’m hoping the habit sticks.

Just spent a couple hours prepping food for the week while listening to an audiobook.

Because we all know we have a big gun problem, the U.S. House of Representatives took an inspiring stand this week against all of the not doing anything that has become the MO of Congress. The #NoBillNoBreak sit-in was followed closely on Twitter and broadcast via Periscope on CSPAN after the GOP shut off the House cameras.

It was a big news week to say the least. SCOTUS reached decisions on affirmative action and immigration, another police officer was found not guilty in the Freddie Gray case, and also, oh, Brexit happened. So, David Cameron resigned and the UK will be dealing with this fallout for years.

Here are a few not terrible things I recommend from my week:

Wonder Woman has been reborn & it’s great news for longtime fans.

– I just finished Shrill by Lindy West and it’s one of the best books I’ve read this year. It’s articulate, biting, and demands our attention & empathy when both are in short supply.

– The trend of good TV on HBO continues with Issa Rae’s new comedy, Insecure.
