I started my week in Dallas, visiting the other half of Cookiepocket! I really enjoyed road-tripping to north Texas. We conducted our own music history study along the drive (classic rock on the way there & hip hop on the way home) and ate A LOT of delicious food in Dallas. I even took some home for later:
My new nephew was born on Wednesday in Houston! So I’ve been receiving a ton of photos of a tiny human in a beanie. Welcome to the chaos, Leo! I’ll be taking a trip to meet you soon.
I hope y’all have been enjoying the massive amount of good TV out there lately as much as I have – Bob’s Burgers (just ended a great sixth season), Full Frontal with Samantha Bee (SO good every week), Veep & Silicon Valley (always on point), The Mindy Project (I’m loving it Danny-free). Despite being frustrated that I will never be able to watch ALL the great TV, I still convinced myself to go back and watch The West Wing on Netflix (finally!) and wow, why didn’t I watch this sooner?
Did you watch two amazing kids spell their way to glory last night at the Scripps National Spelling Bee? It was TENSE and very impressive.
Here are a few other things I’m into this week:
1. In 25-year-old Movie News: Thelma & Louise Holds Up Well – A Little Too Well
2. Historical Shift: Living With Parents Edges Out Other Living Arrangements for 18-to 34-Year-Olds
3. A favorite: Chef’s Table has another season up on Netflix. It’s a beautifully filmed series about food & resilience around the world. So yes, I do have rainy Memorial Day weekend plans, thank you.
I hope you enjoy your weekend too!
