Monday morning, I woke up to an Uber-free Austin, Texas. My city voted to uphold requirements to document drivers through fingerprinting. I think rideshare is a very useful service but like many folks, I was more than a little put off by Uber’s bullying and massive marketing campaign. BTW:
Sunday was Mother’s Day and while many people shared positive memories of their moms, it’s always important to remember that not everyone celebrates on Mother’s Day. Last year, my mom was in a rehabilitation center being treated for alcoholism. This year, I am closer to accepting her disease and that my relationship with her will always be insecure at best. This was the advice I gave myself and Twitter on Sunday:
So, Grace and Frankie is awesome. Sarah mentioned this last week too but it’s worth another mention: Season two is now on Netflix and it’s full of life lessons, laughs, and solid one-liners from the legendary Lily Tomlin.
I also recommend the following from my week:
- The Evolution of Wonder Woman’s Look – There’s a whole lot of “yikes!” and “YES” in this infographic.
- Almost everyone (save for a few people I could never understand) is #TeamCap this week, so naturally – Chris Evans’ Version of Masculinity is What We Want Right Now.
- And, Michelle Branch helped Full Frontal say “Goodbye Ted Cruz.”-
Happy Friday the 13th, y’all!
