April has been a rough month :(. The world is still recovering from losing Prince, some of my best friends lost their best dog friend, and my mom + many other Houston residents are currently dealing with the aftermath of being flooded out of their homes due to the highest rate of rain in the U.S. South in over 60 years. (The latest report has measured over six feet of rain since March!)

To escape a bit, we went to the movies and saw The Jungle Book. While the movie (specifically the-jungle-book-idris-elba-1the boy playing Mowgli) could have been better, the visual effects were amazing & the voice acting, featuring icons Ben Kingsley, Lupita Nyong’o, Bill Murray, and Idris Elba was fantastic.

Social Media has been buzzing with thoughts on womanhood this week. Beyoncé’s “Lemonade” aired on HBO and it’s looking more and more likely that Hillary Clinton will be our Democratic Presidential nominee.

Part of removing old men from their positions of prominences is caring less about the dumb, ungenerous, anachronistic things they tend to say.

While these are both things worth talking about, my favorite article of the week points out that not everyone’s opinion should be counted as valid and worthwhile.
